PRESS RELEASE “INVEST TODAY” GUEST LECTURE AND WORKSHOP

The Business Administration Study Program and the Financial Accounting & Capital Market Laboratory Unit are determined to synergize theory and practice with direct learning methods with experts and practitioners in their fields. Thus, the Business Administration Study Program (PSAB) and the Lab Unit. Financial Accounting & Capital Markets held a Guest Lecture and Workshop "Invest Today" with the theme Smart Planning for the Future by Investing on Thursday, 6 February 2020. With two speakers namely Mr. Agus Soenartono, S.Sos resource persons from Mutual Securities Funds and Mr. Indrawan Nugroho Utomo, SH, MH resource persons from the Malang Financial Services Authority.

The Guest Lecture was held in the Hall on the 10th floor and the Workshop was held in the SIM Laboratory on the 7th floor in building E, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University, which was attended by 115 student participants from the FIA and other faculties. The main purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge related to Investment and OJK as well as direct practical learning in online share buying and selling transactions.

This activity was started by the MC, followed by a prayer followed by remarks from the chief executive, Arik Prasetya, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D. Furthermore, this event was opened by the Deputy Dean 2, Dr. Hamidah Nayati Utami, S.Sos., M.Sc. The Guest Lecture and Workshop activities were led by moderator Nur Imamah, Dr., SAB., MAB, PhD. The event ran smoothly, and the enthusiasm of the participants was extraordinary for the presentation of the material presented by the speakers. The enthusiasm of the participants did not only stop at the guest lecture, this was proven by the persistence of the participants to continue participating in workshop activities related to the practice of buying and selling shares online through securities mutual funds.

Based on the results of this activity, it is hoped that PSAB students will become more understanding and intelligent that investment from a young age is very important for their lives both now and in the future. This related learning will give students the mindset that not all pocket money from their parents has to be spent but some can be used as an investment and of course investing will make them more independent because they can have their own income even though they are still students.
