Step on the Gas, Tourism Study Program Holds Curriculum Workshop within FIA's Internal Scope

After receiving the official permission for implementation by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti) this semester, the Tourism Study Program, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB) moved quickly to prepare all the requirements, one of which was the curriculum. Therefore, this study program which is under the Department of Business Administration held a Tourism Study Program Curriculum Workshop, Wednesday (10/12).

The event, which took place in the Meeting Room of Building B, FIA UB, 2nd Floor, was attended by the Dean of FIA UB, the Chair and Secretary of the Business Administration Department, the Chair and Secretary of the Tourism Study Program, as well as lecturers within the department. In his speech, Dean Prof. Dr. Bambang Supriyono congratulated the granting of the permit for providing education to this study program. According to him, the study program headed by Yusri Abdillah, Ph.D. is unique because it is under the auspices of the Department of Business Administration. "Unlike Tourism on other campuses which is usually under the department of culture or something similar, the Tourism orientation at our place will refer more to a business industry perspective," he said.

At the event which lasted until the afternoon, the lecturers took turns expressing their ideas for developing the Tourism Study Program curriculum. The event ended with an agreement on the list of courses and the number of credits that students needed to take. Furthermore, this study program will hold a similar workshop involving academics and tourism practitioners in Indonesia. (ALA/FIA)
