UB Signs Cooperation Agreement with Timor Leste

MoU EditExpanding the cooperation network for the implications of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, Universitas Brawijaya once again signed a joint agreement. This time, UB signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Timor Leste. The signing was held on Wednesday (28/8) in the Meeting Room of the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB).

This MoU was signed by the Vice Rector I, Universitas Brawijaya, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Suharto, MS. representing the Chancellor, while the Government of Timor Leste was represented by the President of the Timor Leste Personnel Commission, Eng. Liborio Pereira, MIM. This activity was also to sign a cooperation agreement between FIA UB and the President of the Timor Leste Personnel Commission and was attended by the FIA Dean and delegates from the Government of Timor Leste and FIA UB.

Through this MoU, Vice Rector I hoped that there would be a follow-up to this MoU. "In the future, not only will there be an MoU but also a follow-up," he said. He also hopes that there will be very useful results for both parties through the MoU.

The Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, (FIA UB) also hopes that there will be strong collaboration from, by and for both parties. FIA UB in collaboration with the Timor Leste Personnel Commission will develop a staffing development plan by educating the sons and daughters of Timor Leste, developing and monitoring human resources. "Both parties have also agreed that there will be further studies for Timor Leste civil servants in the Public Administration Masters Program, FIA UB.

Regarding the further study plans, met during the event, Andy Fefta Wijaya, Head of the Public Administration Masters Program, FIA UB, explained that the collaboration with Timor Leste has been running. “Currently there will be 21 Timor Leste civil servants who have passed the selection in several departments. The current activity is preparation for matriculation for college preparation," he said. The background of this activity is that the alma mater of the Director General of Civil Service for the Government of Timor Leste is from FIA UB. In the future, the Master of Public Administration plans to hold training by presenting lecturers from UB. [vicky]
