Working together with the Construction, Education and Training Center of the State Ministry of National Development Planning Agency, FAS UB held the first functional training on planning. The planning lasted for 7 (seven) weeks and 38 participants from different cities all over Indonesia were divided into 2 (two) cohorts. The participants were the employees of the national bureaus under the State Ministry of National Development Planning Agency and the National Agency of Food and Drug Control.
The Dean of FAS UB Prof. Dr. Bambang Supriyono, MS welcomed all of the participants during the opening ceremony. He said that the Construction, Education and Training Center of the State Ministry of National Development Planning Agency and FAS UB have been working together for a while now for example conducting a dual-degree program for the last 13 (thirteen) years and various non-degree trainings. In her welcome speech, the dean welcomed all participants and hoped that they could immediately adjust to the learning atmosphere in FAS UB.
At the same time, the head of the Development and Construction Bureau of the Planning Functional Training Reminded the participants to stay focused during the training. According to him, FAS UN has the best facilities among others throughout Indonesia to accommodate the participants' need in the training. He also said that FAS UB has been the partner in the development of human resources of the national government officers for a long time.
the Planning Functional Training is the very first collaboration in the history of the State Ministry of National Development Planning Agency and FAS UB. In the training, the participants were given materials from the standardized curriculum designed by the Construction, Education and Training Center of the State Ministry of National Development Planning Agency. There are at least four topics the participants should master ie technical planning, social, economics and spatial. At the end of the training, the participants would sit on a test. Those who failed the test were given another opportunity to take the same test within 2 years.
