Lecturer at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB) Andriani Kusumawati SSos MSi DBA managed to get a program grant Scheme for Academic Mobility and Exchange (SAME) 2016 from the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti). Of the 84 applicants throughout Indonesia, 9 of whom were applicants from UB, Andriani was successfully selected after going through various stages of selection and rigorous competition from June to August 2016. Thanks to his hard work, the lecturer from the Department of Business Administration was chosen as the only participant from UB who passed the SAME program. Andriani will carry out various activities related to research and publication of scientific papers in Australia for three months with 6 selected participants who are all lecturers from all over Indonesia.
Andriani's selection in the program is also inseparable from the existence of a memorandum of understanding between Universitas Brawijaya and the University of Wollongong (Australia) regarding the development of the quality of human resources. Initially, Andriani intended to join the SAME program after receiving an invitation to collaborate on research and publications with partner lecturers from the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance (SAEF), Faculty of Business, University of Wollongong. In addition, the activity program proposed by Andriani is considered relevant and beneficial to both partnering institutions, namely Universitas Brawijaya and University of Wollongong, in order to improve international publication qualifications as the main target of this SAME program.
In this SAME activity, Andriani also received a degree Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Wollongong in 2013, targeting to produce two scientific publications regarding the results of research that has been conducted on marketing and consumer behavior in higher education. As visiting fellow in this activity, Andriani also had the opportunity to take part in various other academic activities such as seminar series as well as scientific discussions organized by partner universities. Apart from that, Andriani also took part in activities with the local Indonesian-Australian Student Association (PPIA).
By participating in this program, apart from increasing his own capacity, Andriani also had the opportunity to offer a collaborative program to invite lecturers from the Faculty of Business, University of Wollongong as guest lecturer at FIA UB. It is hoped that the collaboration between the two institutions will provide opportunities for both parties to expand other collaborations, as well as support UB's vision and mission towards international reputation.
