Library Science Study Program, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB) held a "Workshop on Finalization of the Information Sciences Family IQF", Monday (8/5). The event which was centered in the Hall of Building A FIA UB 4th Floor invited lecturers and practitioners in the field of information science. The event itself was held in collaboration with the FIA UB Library Science Study Program and the Indonesian Association of Higher Education Organizers of Library and Information Sciences (APTIPI).
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FIA UB Prof. Dr. Bambang Supriyono MS expressed his gratitude for the presence of the speakers and invited guests in the activity. The dean also explained that he really believed that the field of information science and library would be very prospective in the future. According to the Dean, in the future there will be many institutions that require graduates from this field of study. "Currently there are almost no institutions that do not require library science, so I'm sure graduates of this study program will be sought after in the world of work later," explained the Dean.
Meanwhile, in the workshop which lasted for one full day until that evening, the organizers presented several competent speakers to discuss various matters related to the IQF in the information sciences group. Among them are the Head of the Postgraduate Program in Information Science and Library Management at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Ida Fajar Priyanto PhD, Professor of Library Science at the University of Indonesia (UI) Prof. Sulistyo Basuki PhD, Head of the UI Archives Office Anon Mirnami MIM Arc/Rec, and Team Leader KKNI Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Megawati Santoso PhD. Also present were practitioners and library managers of state universities throughout Indonesia.
