The baton of leadership in the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Public Administration has shifted. Last Monday (15/8), the two departments under the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB) appointed the new chairperson and secretary of the department through a voting mechanism. From that selection process, Dr. Mochammad Al Musadieq MBA and Mohammad Iqbal MBA PhD were selected as Chair and Secretary of the Department of Business Administration for the 2017-2021 period, respectively. Meanwhile, Andy Fefta Wijaya MDA PhD and Dr Alfi Hariswanto MAP MMG were appointed as Chair and Secretary of the Department of Public Administration 2017-2021.
In the voting process at the Department of Business Administration, there were two candidates out of dozens of candidates for department heads who expressed their willingness to be elected, namely Mochammad Al Musadieq and Dr. Wilopo MAB. In the voting process which was attended by all active lecturers of the department, Musadieq managed to outperform Wilopo with a total of 40 votes to 24. As for the department secretary, because there was only a single candidate, namely Mochammad Iqbal, the committee decided to immediately appoint Iqbal as the new Department Secretary. . This means that Iqbal extended his tenure for a second period.
Meanwhile, in the Department of Public Administration, there are four candidates competing for the lecturers' votes. Two candidates for department head, namely Andy Fefta Wijaya and Dr Mohammad Nuh MSi, and two other candidates for department secretary, namely Alfi Hariswanto and Oscar Radyan Danar PhD. After the vote counting process, Andy Fefta managed to get 37 votes, while Nuh was only supported by 20 votes. As for the department secretary, Alfi outperformed Oscar with 35 votes to 20.
After the vote counting process, in the afternoon the FIA UB Senate immediately held a meeting to determine the chairman and secretary of the new department. From the meeting, the Senate sent a decision letter to the Chancellor of Brawijaya University, which proposed the selected candidates to be ratified by the Chancellor through a Decree.
