Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA) Universitas Brawijaya, on Wednesday, 17 September 2014, the arrival of guests from the School of Business, Singapore Polytechnic. The group consisting of one accompanying lecturer and 14 students attended a public lecture organized by the Department of Business Administration. This visit is part of the collaboration that has existed between Singapore Polytechnic and the Department of Business Administration since 2013.
Upon arrival at the FIA campus, the group was greeted directly by the Dean of FIA, Prof. Dr. Bambang Supriyono. On that occasion, Prof. Bambang introduced the various programs and levels of study available at FIA. With these various program options, Prof. Bambang invited students from Singapore Polytechnic to continue their studies at FIA. "We will be happy to accept you if you want to continue your studies at FIA," said this professor who loves music and speaks quite fluent English.
On that occasion, Ms. Lynn Zhou, who acts as an associate lecturer from Singapore Polytechnic, expressed his deepest gratitude for the kind and warm reception from the entire FIA family. He said that he and the students who took part in the activity couldn't wait to learn about the world of business from an Indonesian perspective. “Big thank you for the good acceptance," he said.
The Chair of the Committee for this visiting activity, Brillyanes Sanawiri, revealed that this activity was part of the initiation of collaboration between Singapore Polytechnic and the FIA. In the future, he wants Singapore Polytechnic students to continue their studies at FIA, and they will be placed in the International Class (Class K) which is now the embryo of a special class containing students from various countries. "So that in the future the current Class K will not just be an English language class, but will truly be an international class that accommodates students from all over the world," said the man who was once the manager of Arema, the proud football team of Malang City.
The day's activities consisted of public lectures delivered by three lecturers from the Department of Business Administration. Brillyanes Sanawiri conveyed the prospects and procedures for running a foreign business or investment in Indonesia. Then Dr. Kholid Mawardi conveyed more ideas about strengthening small and medium businesses ahead of the implementation of the 2015 ASEAN Economic Community. And, Dr. Yusri Abdillah summarized all the material with the challenges and opportunities that will be faced after the implementation of the 2015 ASEAN Economic Community.
After receiving a guest lecture, the guest from Singapore was invited to visit one of the local companies, namely CV. Unggul, which is located in Singosari, Malang Regency. (ALA)
