Malang, 29 May 2024 – Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Wijaya Putra University (UWP) Surabaya visited the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA) Brawijaya University. The UWP FISIP group was led by the Dean of UWP FISIP, Dr. Sri Juni Woroastuti, M.Kom., with the aim of studying quality assurance implemented at FIA Brawijaya University.
The activity began with remarks from Dr. Sri Juni Woroastuti, M.Kom., who expressed great hopes for this visit. "We hope to learn about the quality assurance carried out at FIA Universitas Brawijaya, so that it can be implemented at FISIP UWP to improve our academic and institutional quality," said Dr. Sri Juni Woroastuti in his speech.
The second speech was delivered by Dr. Fadhillah Amin, Ph.D., Chair of the Public Administration Department of FIA Brawijaya University, who represented the Dean of FIA who was unable to attend. “We are very open to discussing quality assurance and institutional development. "We hope that through this discussion, we can share useful knowledge and experiences," said Dr. Fadhillah Amen.
After the speech, the event continued with a discussion session led by Lestari Eko Wahyudi, Chair of the Brawijaya University FIA Quality Assurance Group. This discussion discusses in depth the quality assurance system implemented at Brawijaya University and its impact on the development of Brawijaya University's FIA. Lestari Eko Wahyudi explained the various quality assurance mechanisms and procedures that have been implemented, and how this contributes to improving academic and institutional quality at FIA.
“We have a quality assurance system that is well integrated across various units and study programs. "This includes internal audits, periodic evaluations, and training for staff and lecturers to ensure the quality of education is maintained," said Lestari Eko Wahyudi.
This visit was attended by a number of officials from FISIP UWP, including the dean, head of the department of public administration, as well as representatives from the laboratory and quality assurance unit of FISIP UWP. From the Brawijaya University FIA, there were the head of the public administration department, the secretary of the public administration department, the head of the library science study program, the head of the public administration master's study program, the head of the public administration bachelor's study program, the head of the educational administration laboratory, the head of the library science laboratory, the head of the LKP3 laboratory , journal management body, head of the organization development and public management laboratory, and head of the politics and governance laboratory.
Participants from both universities actively participated in discussions, shared experiences, and exchanged information regarding quality assurance practices at their respective institutions. It is hoped that this visit can strengthen cooperation between FISIP UWP and FIA Brawijaya University, as well as making a positive contribution to developing the quality of education in both faculties.
The event ended with a group photo session and an exchange of souvenirs as a sign of cooperation and friendship between FISIP Wijaya Putra University and FIA Brawijaya University. This visit marks the first step in a collaborative effort to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia.
