That is a piece of knowledge delivered by Alvin Adam, the presenter talk show “Just Alvin”, who was present at the “Brand Yourself, Get Your Career” organized by the Leadership Laboratory, Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB). For approximately 2 hours, Alvin shared his knowledge and experience as a presenter and public speaker in an activity held in collaboration with Tabloid Bintang and sponsored by Mustika Ratu.
According to Alvin Adam, good communication skills actually start with a sense of empathy. That is, one must be able to feel what others feel when communicating. In other words, must haverose“. Thus, when we listen to others speak, we must listen wholeheartedly. "Listen to other people's speech, feel what they feel, and don't speak before being asked to speak," Alvin advised around 300 participants who attended.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FIA UB, Prof. Dr. Bambang Supriyono MS, in his speech said that this communication skill is absolutely needed by all students from any major. He appreciated the implementation of this activity because it can provide real benefits by listening to the material presented by Alvin Adam. "FIA UB wants students to be not only competent in academic skills, but also non-academic skills or softskills like public speaking,” said the Dean.
