FIA UB Successfully Holds Research Methodology Workshop and IAPA East Java Regional Conference, Dr. Muhammad Nuh Elected as Chair of IAPA East Java DPD 2024-2028

Malang, August 27, 2024 – The Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) successfully held a Public Administration Research Methodology Workshop and the Regional Conference (Musda) of the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA) of East Java. The event, held at the Raden Wijaya Hall, Building E, 11th Floor, FIA UB, became an important event for academics, researchers, and practitioners to strengthen collaboration networks and share knowledge in the field of public administration.

The event began with participant registration at 08.00 WIB, followed by the official opening at 09.00 WIB, marked by singing the song Indonesia Raya, the Universitas Brawijaya Hymn, and the FIA MARS. This opening created an atmosphere full of enthusiasm, arousing a sense of pride in the national identity and the institution that organized the event.

The welcoming session began at 09.20 WIB with a report from the committee and remarks from the Chairman of the East Java IAPA DPD, Dr. Muhammad Nuh, S.IP., M.Sc., who emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration in facing global challenges. "We must continue to innovate and strengthen collaboration between institutions so that public administration science can answer the challenges of the times," said Dr. Nuh. Collaboration between academics, practitioners, and educational institutions is the key to creating solutions that are relevant to society.

Vice Dean III of FIA UB, Dr. Mochammad Rozikin, M.Sc., said that this event is a strategic step to expand the network of cooperation between FIA UB and various educational institutions and professional organizations in Indonesia. "FIA UB is proud to host this event. We hope that through this activity, the synergy between academics and practitioners can be further strengthened, so that we can together encourage the advancement of public administration science in Indonesia," said Dr. Rozikin.

The representative of the DPP IAPA Chairperson, Dr. Buchori, M.Sc., expressed his gratitude to FIA UB for its support as the host of this event. "We greatly appreciate the support from FIA UB. Hopefully this collaboration will continue well in the future," said Dr. Buchori. This event is considered important to strengthen communication and cooperation between institutions in order to develop innovative and equitable public administration science.

The Regional Conference of the East Java IAPA DPD for the 2021-2024 period began at 09.50 WIB, including an accountability report, the election of a new DPD Chairperson, and a formator meeting led by the chair of the meeting. The results of this Regional Conference determined that Dr. Muhammad Nuh, S.IP., M.Sc., was re-elected as the Chairperson of the East Java IAPA DPD for the 2024-2028 period. This election shows the great trust of the East Java IAPA members in Dr. Nuh's leadership and vision in advancing the organization.

The material delivery session began at 11.00 WIB with the topic of the Indonesian Public Administration Professional Certification Institute (LSP) (API), delivered by Dr. Yuni Woro. "LSP API is here to ensure that professionals in the field of public administration have certification that meets national and international standards," explained Dr. Yuni, emphasizing the importance of certification in improving competence and public trust in the quality of administrative services.

After the material delivery and break (ISHOMA) session which lasted until 13.00 WIB, the activity continued with the Public/State Administration Research Methodology Development Workshop. This workshop was guided by a moderator and filled by the main speaker, Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, who discussed various latest innovations in research methodology. "With the right research method approach, we can develop more in-depth and relevant studies, so that the results can contribute significantly to the development of public administration science," said Prof. Sugiyono. Flexibility and adaptation in research methods are key in responding to the dynamics of ongoing social change.

This workshop provides participants with the opportunity to deepen new techniques and approaches in research, and discuss challenges and opportunities in the development of future research methodologies. Direct interaction with speakers allows participants to share experiences and explore possible collaborations in research in the field of public administration.

The official event closed at 15.15 WIB, marking the end of a series of activities that took place throughout the day. This workshop and Musda became an important momentum for FIA UB to strengthen its role as an institution committed to the development of public administration science in Indonesia. This activity is expected to provide real contributions in expanding cooperation networks, improving the quality of research, and presenting innovative solutions to the challenges faced by society in this modern era.
