In his opening remarks, the Head of the Business Administration Department, Prof. Dr. Endang Siti Astuti expressed her appreciation to the Taxation Study Program which was able to hold a national seminar with a current theme like this even though it is classified as a new study program. According to him, this cannot be separated from the support of the faculty leadership who always welcomes proposals for organizing academic activities that are beneficial for scientific development. "In the future, the Taxation Study Program must continue to thrive because the role of tax for the country is very important," he added.
Meanwhile, IFTAA General Chair Prof. Dr. Gunadi had the opportunity to convey the current development of fiscal and tax administration in Indonesia in his speech. IFTAA has held hearings with a number of parties with an interest in tax science, such as the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education. From the results of the hearing, everyone agreed that the science of fiscal and tax administration was very important in efforts to increase state revenues through taxes. "The Minister of Finance promised to expand the quota for accepting new employees not only from the field of fiscal science but also taxation," he said.
The National Seminar on Taxation presented three presenters, each representing parties related to the world of taxation. The first speaker was Dr. Kadarisman Hidayat (Head of the FIA UB Taxation Study Program) as the representative of academics, the second is Mampe TH. Siagian (Head Office of the Directorate General of Taxes) as a representative from the government, and third is Romi Irawan, SE., MM (Partner of Transfer Pricing, Danny Darussalam Tax Center) as a representative from tax practitioners. Moderated by Drs. If not, it will be prone to irregularities which will result in a decrease in state revenues, economic growth, and an impact on weakening state sovereignty. (ALA/FIA)
