Malang, May 16, 2025 – A solemn atmosphere enveloped the Hall of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University (FIA UB) on Thursday morning (16/5), when an event was held. Release of Hajj Pilgrims from the Large Family of the FIA UB Academic Community in 2025. This event was a moment full of emotion and pride, when the big family of FIA UB released a number of Academic Community members who would perform the Hajj pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
The event started at 09.00 WIB with the opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC), Dear Mr. Rahmi Amalia, who welcomed the invited guests and the pilgrims who were about to depart. Then, the atmosphere became even more solemn with the reading of the Holy Verses of the Qur'an by Mr. Abdiy Lillah Afis Sholeh, which adds a religious nuance to the activity.
In his speech, the Dean of FIA UB, Prof. Drs. Andy Fefta Wijaya, MDA., Ph.D, expressed his gratitude and pride for the departure of members of the FIA UB academic community to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam. He also prayed that all pilgrims would be given health, success, and a prosperous Hajj.
"Hopefully this journey will bring blessings not only to the congregation, but also to the families and work environment at FIA UB," he said in his speech.
As a form of appreciation and moral support, the event continued with the delivery of a gift to the pilgrims who went on the hajj. This symbolic handover was carried out directly by the faculty leadership as a form of respect and blessing for the pilgrims' spiritual journey. The pilgrims who went on the hajj this year were Prof. Dr. Drs. Edy Yulianto, MP (with spouse), Drs. Topo Wijono, M.Si. (with spouse), and Dr. Niken Lastiti VA, SAP, MAP (with partner).
The next event was the closing which was delivered by Prof. Dr. Choirul Saleh, M.Si. This release event is a form of close family ties within FIA UB, as well as a symbol of appreciation for the dedication of the academic community who will perform the Hajj.
