The expansion that can be done by companies is divided into two kinds, which are internal expansion and external expansion. Internal expansion is conducted when the company develops its business units, expands its marketing area, product innovation, and other aspects within the company itself. Meanwhile, external expansion is conducted when the company is merged with another company. One of the most common methods of external expansion strategy is Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).
