Visit of IACBE Assessors to the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University

In order to improve the quality of education and achieve international accreditation, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB) today received a visit from IACBE (International Accreditation Council for Business Education) assessors. This visit is planned to last for two days, namely from 18 to 19 September 2023. There are two IACBE assessors who come to the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, namely Jorge Cardenas and Richard Kido. Jorge Cardenas is a lecturer at Forbes School of Business and Technology USA and serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of IACBE, Richard Kido is a lecturer at Chaminade University USA.

Accreditation is carried out by IACBE assessors for the Department of Business Administration, in which there are study programs:
1. Bachelor of Business Administration (S1)
2. Bachelor of Taxation (S1)
3. Bachelor of Tourism (S1)
4. Master of Business Administration (S2)
5. Doctoral Program in Administrative Sciences (S3)

The visitation activity started at 09.00 with the arrival of the two assessors on the FIA UB campus. The first agenda is a discussion regarding protocols and visit plans. This agenda lasted 30 minutes and was followed by an intensive discussion involving business units and leaders, including the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP, Deputy Chancellor for finance and resources, Dr. M. Ali Safaat, SH., MH, Dean of FIA UB, Prof. Drs. Andy Fefta Wijaya, MDA., Ph.D, Deputy Dean for Finance and Resources, Dr. Muhammad Faisal Riza, S.Sos, M.Si., and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Arik Prasetya, S.Sos, M.Si, Ph.D. This discussion was held behind closed doors and ended at 10.10. The agenda continues with discussions with the management team of the Department of Business Administration and the three study programs under it, namely the Business Administration Study Program, the Tourism Study Program and the Taxation Study Program. Important topics such as departmental strategic plans, learning quality evaluation, and curriculum were highlighted in this discussion.

Post-ishoma, the discussion continued with a focus on the services and resources available to students. This discussion involved several campus stakeholders, namely representatives from the Brawijaya University library (Dr. Iwan Permadi, SH. M.Hum. and Cuikitalia SE., MM,) Deputy dean for student affairs (Dr. M. Rozikin, Dr, M.Si) , Chair of Career and Alumni Development (Karuniawan Puji Wicaksono, SP, MP, Ph.D), Center for Disability Services (Zubaidah Ningsih AS., S.Si., M.Phil., Ph.D), and Main Director of the Business Management Agency (BPU) UB (Dr Sihabudin SH MH and Chanastalia, SS). In this discussion, the facilities provided to students are explained, including library services, health, student dormitories, canteens, sports facilities and infrastructure, and also various facilities for people with disabilities. After this agenda, a discussion session was held between assessors and student and alumni representatives. This discussion was carried out to gain perspectives from users of educational services at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University. Today's agenda closed with a discussion with the teaching team. In this discussion, the curriculum was discussed, evaluation of the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education, implementation of international programs.

IACBE's visit to Brawijaya University indicates UB's commitment to improving the quality of education and seeking international accreditation. With this activity, it is hoped that UB can obtain valuable input for future improvements and innovations, in line with the university's vision to become a leading educational institution at the global level.
