ICT and Supporting Facilities for Learning and Research Activities

Faculty of Administrative Science (FIA) Universitas Brawijaya has provided internet facility, accessible to FIA students through Wireless Fidelity (WIFI) access in all FIA UB environment areas. As an illustration, UB has built internet network with total bandwidth currently is 300MB. Of the 300MB, 120MB is allocated for network servers, while 180MB is used by users throughout UB, including UB students, lecturers, and employees.

To speed up internet access, FIA UB has also built and developed its own internet network. Up to May 2013, the FIA has built six hotspots in A, 13 (thirteen) hotspots in building B, and 2 (two) hotspots in building C. Based on the survey, a total of 21 (twenty one) ) hotspot point is capable of being used by 500 (five hundred) gadgets, laptops, and online computers every day. Thus, the academic community of FIA UB can use the internet facility with easy and quick access to information as well as various educational and teaching needs.

In addition, the FIA UB also has a computer laboratory contained in the Pusat Kajian dan Pengembangan Manajemen Sistem Informasi (PKPMSI) that can be used generally by students, especially for subjects that require integrated learning by using computer aids. The use of computers in the laboratory is also very useful especially at the time of academic registration activities related to programming courses to be taken on line.
