Course Structure
This course discusses the functions and roles of leaders in business organizations. This course provides provisions for students to be able to execute various leadership roles in organizations which include the process of articulating a shared vision, building accountability and trust, aligning insights, providing motivation and inspiration for groups in synergizing potential. After taking this course students can improve their ability to carry out leadership functions and roles in business.
The Tourism Planning course has a discussion theme that focuses on the importance of appropriate tourism planning to support tourism development in a world economy that is and continues to develop, the resulting social changes, and the expected sustainable growth. Apart from considering aspects such as industry competition and collaboration, this Tourism Planning lecture also discusses financing aspects in tourism planning and the use of IT in the tourism planning process.
This course contains concepts, principles and procedures for implementing Hygiene, Sanitation and Health, Work Safety in operational activities of hotels, tourist destinations, restaurants, transportation and those related to tourism activities.
This course provides an in-depth understanding of the important role of information and communication systems in the tourism industry. Learning materials will teach students about how information systems can help manage tourism destinations, including collecting, processing and analyzing relevant data. Students will also learn the importance of accurate and up-to-date information in making decisions related to tourism planning, destination management, and tourism marketing. Apart from that, this course will also discuss the importance of effective communication in the tourism industry. Students will learn about communication strategies that can be used to improve the image of tourism destinations, overcome communication problems, and communicate with various related parties, such as tourists, local governments, and other parties involved in the tourism industry.
The Japanese language course in the Tourism Studies Program is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of Japanese language and culture, with a focus on its use in the context of the tourism industry. The course includes lessons on grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure, as well as relevant cultural aspects. Students will also learn how to communicate effectively in Japanese in a variety of tourism situations, such as booking hotels, giving directions, or responding to tourist inquiries. The main goal of this course is to prepare students to interact with visitors or colleagues who speak Japanese in a tourism setting.
The Mandarin Language course in the Tourism Studies Program is a course designed to provide students with the basics of Mandarin language and culture, with special emphasis on its use in the tourism industry. This course includes an introduction to Mandarin grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure, as well as cultural elements relevant to tourism. Students will learn how to communicate effectively in various tourism situations, such as making reservations, giving directions, and responding to tourists' questions in Mandarin. The main aim of this course is to equip students with communication skills in Mandarin that will enable them to interact with visitors or colleagues who speak Mandarin in a tourism context.
Special Interest Tourism courses in the Tourism Studies Program are designed to introduce students to various forms of tourism that target specific market segments, such as adventure tourism, culinary tourism, medical tourism, and ecotourism tourism. This course will discuss the concepts, characteristics, and management of various types of special interest tourism. Students will also learn how to design, market, and manage tourism products and experiences that meet travelers' specific interests and needs. The primary objective of this course is to prepare students to create and manage unique and memorable tourism experiences that meet the needs of specific and growing tourism markets.
This course provides an understanding of destination management and Tourist Attraction Objects (ODTW) starting from planning, development and supervision including operations, marketing, human resources (HR) and finance. This course directs students to have sensitivity in recognizing tourism potential in destinations and ODTW and making them into attractions.
The Entrepreneurship course in the Tourism Study Program aims to prepare students to create and manage their own business in the tourism industry. This course examines the basic principles of entrepreneurship, including opportunity identification, business planning, marketing, and operational management. Students will also learn about the challenges and risks associated with entrepreneurship, and how to overcome them. Additionally, this course will help students develop the skills and attitudes necessary to become successful entrepreneurs, such as critical thinking, creativity, and perseverance. The main aim is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to start and manage their own tourism business.
The Community Service course is a course designed to encourage students to contribute directly to the community around them. The main focus is on the application of the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their education to help solve real problems and challenges faced by society. Community service can involve a variety of activities, including applied research projects, education and training, consulting, or other hands-on services. The basic concept of this course is to give students the opportunity to see first-hand how their knowledge can be used to help others and improve society as a whole. In addition, this course also aims to increase student awareness and empathy for social and environmental issues around them.
