Universitas Brawijaya (UB) confirmed Drs. Andy Fefta Wijaya, MDA., Ph.D. as a Professor in the field of Public Policy. He is the 14th active professor at the Faculty of Administration (FlA) and the 175th active professor at Brawijaya University and the 329th professor out of all professors produced by Brawijaya University. The inauguration was held on Sunday (13/08/2023), at the Samantha Krida Building offline. In his scientific oration Prof. Andy Fefta Wijaya gave a presentation entitled "Public Policy in a Model Ccollaborative Governance Ppass Multimate Helix”.
Public policy development in models collaborative governance plus multi helix (CGPMH) is a framework that combines a collaborative approach and involves actors helix in various sectors in public policy. The novelty of this model combines the concepts collaborative governance (binding principles, collective agreements, and capacity to carry out collective action) and concepts helix (government, civil society, private sector, academia, media and helix others) which so far have been studied separately.
“The main strength of Ccollaborative Governance Ppass Multimate Helix (CGPMH) this is that each stakeholder brings unique knowledge, experience and perspectives in public policy, while the drawbacks can take quite a long time and resources, and require good governance capabilities in involving the participation of all stakeholders in order to reach a mutual agreement ”. explained Prof. Andy.
This model also recognizes the importance of continuous learning, experimentation and evaluation in public policy, involving different stakeholders. This model allows for the exchange of knowledge, experience and learning so that quality public policies can continue to develop, improve and adapt to changing conditions and community needs. CGPMH able to enrich the public policy process starting from the formulation of decision-making, implementation and evaluation with a broader, creative, and innovative perspective.
Prof. Andy Fefta Wijaya was born in Palembang on February 17, 1967. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University, Masters at The Australian National University, and graduated Doctoral degree at The Flinders University, South Australia in the field of Public Policy and Management. Apart from being a lecturer, he currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya for the 2021-2025 period.
