Universitas Brawijaya (UB) student delegations in cross-majors have once again colored their achievements in the international arena. This time, the team consisted of Pranaya Arya Satya (Faculty of Animal Husbandry/2015), Ahmad Ghozali (Faculty of Animal Husbandry/2016), Wenning Firda Sari (Faculty of Administrative Sciences/2015), Fidhatul Fajrika Julian (Faculty of Dentistry/2016) and Afina Muti 'ah Tuhepaly (Faculty of Dentistry/2016) won the Gold Prize at the 2018 Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) in Seoul, South Korea, December 6-9 2018.
In the competition, the team presented PROBIA products, which are natural mouthspray made from natural ingredients, including bee propolis (Trigona sp.) and papaya seeds (Carica papaya) to prevent bad breath.
"The background is that so far, some mouthwash products on the market contain chemicals, which will have a negative impact on the oral cavity if used for a long period of time, so there needs to be innovation in mouthwash in the form of a spray made from natural ingredients," explained Pranaya as the team leader.
As for PROBIA's innovation, he added, in terms of packaging it was made more attractive by being equipped bottle holder. This makes PROBIA have a practical impression and are easy to carry anywhere by users.
Furthermore, Wenning as an FIA student served as a product design maker as well marketperformance. He considered his product to be more practical, only needing to spray it mouthspray towards the mouth for several times.
"We hope that this product can help the community in preventing halitosis and also benefit the community," concluded Wenning.
