On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the Tourism Study Program, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya had the opportunity to receive a Benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. This activity took place in Building A, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, and aimed to provide insight and references for UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta which is planning to open a tourism study program.
In this visit, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta sent three lecturers as delegates consisting of Dr. Humam Santosa Utomo, M.AB., Dr. Ida Susi Dewanti, M.Sc., and Ahmad Zaky, S.AB., M.AB. The delegates who attended will explore the concept, curriculum, and management system of the Tourism Study Program that already exists at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya. This visit also aims to identify various superior practices that may be applied to new study programs at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta.
Representatives from UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta were welcomed by the presence of several lecturers from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences Brawijaya including lecturers leading study programs including Dr. Nur Imamah, M.AB, Ph.D (Head of the Department of Business Administration), Dr. Drs. Edy Yulianto, MP (Head of the Tourism Study Program), Drs. Wiyata, M.AB, Ph.D (Secretary of the Tourism Study Program), and other lecturers. The involvement of many lecturers who are experts in their fields certainly provides very valuable information for the activity benchmarking This.
The activity was carried out by exploring the curriculum, learning methods, and how human resources and the Tourism Study Program at Brawijaya University operate.
By implementing this benchmarking activity, it is hoped that FISIP UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta can gain inspiration and insight from the Tourism Study Program of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University as a reference in developing a quality tourism study program, in accordance with industry needs, and able to produce competent graduates who are ready to compete in the world of tourism.
