Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University Holds IACBE Region 10 International Conference, Invites Participants to Ignite Creativity in Business Education

Malang, October 23, 2024 – The Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has once again made an achievement by successfully holding a prestigious international conference, the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) Region 10. The event, which took place at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, UB, carried an interesting theme, “Igniting Creative Minds: Innovation and Imagination in Business Education”, which managed to attract the attention of academics and business practitioners from various parts of the world.

The IACBE Region 10 Conference is a meeting place for brilliant minds in the field of business education. Present as keynote speakers are four prominent figures, namely:

  • Professor Fadi Asrawi, Ph.D. from Haigazian University, Lebanon, who will share his views on innovation in business education curricula.
  • Archish Maharaja, CFP, CPA/PFS, Ed.D. from Duquesne University, United States, will discuss the importance of creativity in facing future business challenges.
  • Mrs. Rut Damayanti, DBA., a lecturer from Brawijaya University, will present a local perspective on the development of business education in Indonesia.
  • Professor Jayanthi Ramadorai from Acharya Bangalore BSchool, India, will share his experiences in implementing innovative approaches in business learning. 

As well as Mohammad Iqbal, DBA., as a moderator of an interesting and interactive event between speakers and participants.

One of the main highlights of this conference was the importance of implementing design thinking in management education. Yesterday's discussion emphasized how important the management approach is. design thinking in stimulating students' creative thinking and preparing them to face dynamic business challenges. International collaboration is also a highlight, where the exchange of knowledge and experience between countries can improve the quality of business education and prepare graduates to face the global workplace.

The Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Administrative Sciences UB should be proud to be the organizer of this prestigious international conference. As the first department in Indonesia to achieve IACBE accreditation, this step shows FIA UB's commitment to improving the quality of business education and contributing to the development of superior human resources. According to the Head of the Business Department, Dr. Nur Imamah, SAB, MAB, Ph.D., this conference is one of UB's real steps in realizing the vision of internationalization. "In addition to international conferences, we are also trying to improve international classes and their curriculum," said Nur Imamah.

The IACBE conference was attended by more than 60 participants from various countries, such as China, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Lebanon who attended online and offline. This shows the high interest of the international community in the development of quality business education.

Through this conference, it is hoped that Indonesia can be increasingly recognized as a country with great potential in the field of business education. Collaboration between academics and business practitioners is expected to produce new innovations that can provide positive contributions to the development of the business world.
