Employee Readiness For Knowledge Management Implementation In The Audit Board Of The Republic Of Indonesia
Knowledge is a valuable resource, a source of competitive advantage, but also an asset that every organization needs to manage effectively. If the knowledge is not managed, it will lead to the loss of such valuable assets as the employees leaving the organization. The audit board of the Republic of Indonesia is a big public institution with a high rotation of employees and high employee turnover. Moreover, the current Covid- 19 pandemic that forces the employee to work from home will urgently need successful implementation of knowledge management.
Employee readiness is one of the critical factors in the implementation of knowledge management. If employees are not ready to implement knowledge management, this will lead to the organization's failure. Therefore this research evaluates employee readiness for knowledge management implementation. What is the most affecting factors of employee readiness to implement knowledge management, and are employees ready to implement knowledge management?
This research uses hierarchical regression to answer the question about the most affecting factors among the variables; gender, age, length of work, skill and qualification, reward and punishment, support and commitment from management, and behavior. Meanwhile, to answer the level of readiness to implement knowledge management, this research will use the intention to be involved in the SECI (Socialization, Externalization, Combination and Internalization) process as one of the well-known literature of knowledge creation and sharing. The analysis was conducted by using SEM (Structural Equation Modelling).
The result of this research shows that Behavior is the most defining factor in employee readiness to implement knowledge management in the audit board of the
Republic of Indonesia. This result also shows that employees are ready to implement knowledge management. This is revealed by the result of the SEM analysis, which shows there are 14 items considered as the most representative dimensions in the SECI process and by the results of descriptive statistics with high values.
The result of this research is expected to fill the gap in Knowledge Management implementation in Indonesia in terms of employee readiness in the public sector. It is also expected to help BPK and other public sector organizations to implement Knowledge Management successfully. Most of the available literature currently discussing knowledge management is in the business sector. In addition, no literature discussion about employee readiness for knowledge management in the public sector in Indonesia exists. So the results of this study are expected to be one important reference for the public sector in Indonesia in its implementation of knowledge management.
