OUTDOOR MARKET TRADERS' LIVELIHOOD STRATEGIES : A Case Studyin Pasar Besar Malang (PBM) Market, Malang City-Indonesia
This research found that local government of Malang City created certain policy which was a cause of an expensive indoor space & some inconvenient locations of indoor space through their policy. The expensive indoor spaces made small traders could not gain these spaces, and some of the outdoor traders moved to outdoor spaces because their indoor spaces are lacking consumers. But some of them have never been indoor traders. They use the information about hte situation inside the PBM market from the other traders as the main factor in making their decision to use outdoors spaces.
