National Archives Day is routinely celebrated every 18 May. The background to the establishment of National Archives Day, namely May 18 1971, was the milestone in the birth of Law Number 7 of 1971 concerning Basic Provisions for Archives. The enactment of this Law aims to guarantee the safety of national accountability materials regarding planning, implementation and administration of national life as well as to provide these accountability materials for government activities. This is proof that the state is present and pays attention to the field of archives in the life of society, nation and state. National Archives Day was subsequently ratified through the Decree of the Head of ANRI Number: OT.00\/02\/2005 concerning Archives Day.<\/p>\n
