Public Administration Masters Study Program held International <\/em>Guest Lectures <\/em>with the topic "Local People's Perceptions of Climate Change and Related Hazards in Mountanious Areas of Northern Thailand<\/em>\u201c. As the main speaker in this activity was Assoc Prof. Daisuke Komori PhD Agri (Tohoku University, Japan). <\/p>\n

The atmosphere of International Guest Lecture<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In his lecture, Prof. Komori emphasized collaboration between scientific disciplines, namely between natural sciences and social sciences, to solve human problems. Komori gave an example of Hydrology, namely the study of water. According to Komori, a good knowledge of water will encourage people to build a pond community resilience<\/em> (community resilience) against natural disasters and climate change. \u201cJapan and Indonesia are both referred to as 'Disaster Supermarkets' because of the large potential for natural disasters. For that we have to prepare ourselves with all the knowledge we have,\u201d said the environmental expert. <\/p>\n

Activity International Guest Lectures <\/em>This is not the first time it has been held at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB). This is considering that FIA UB has a lot of cooperation with several overseas campuses, including in Japan, and one of them is Tohoku University. Therefore, FIA UB routinely invites lecturers from these campuses to provide international insights to students.<\/p>\n
