the rural tourism development has gained considerable attention from all over the world because it is estimated can lead to new dimension of sustainable development. Tourism development in indonesia is familiar with rural tourism as one approach of tourism development. the government of Indonesia to make the rural tourism as the primary target of the country foreign exchange booster. This study aims to explore the community participation in the concept of sustainable development that promote economic growth , social culture, and environment. to analyze the community participation there is the three main focus to limit this research, first motivation to participate, other rarries and facilitators of community participation and the last how to overcome challenge in community participation within sustainable rural tourism development. this research use qualitative approach by adopting multiple case study.
