How Big Data Analytics Help Businesses to improve Firm Performance?: An Evidence from Indonesia
ABSTRACT
Despite Indonesia become the country with one of the highest Big Data
Expenditure Growth in Asia, there is lack of empirical research regarding of Big
Data Analytics Capabilities (BDAC) and its effect on Indonesian Firm Performance
(FPER). Thus, this study try figuring how BDAC effect toward FPER in Indonesia
as well as proposing a conceptual model as a framework to develop BDAC. The
model developed based on IT Capability framework, Sociomaterialism Theory and
the importance of Business Process Agility (BPA) and Process-oriented Dynamic
Capability (PODC) mediating effect as referred by previous researches. This
quantitative research is conducted in Indonesia with a sample of 53 Indonesia
based companies using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The result
shows that there is a significant impact of BDAC on FPER through BPA. While the
mediating role of PODC is found insignificant, BPA proved to be a significant
mediator in the relationship between BDAC and FPER. The key significance of this
research are providing Big Data Analytics Framework and empirical evidence of
BDAC significant effect toward Indonesian firm's performance.
