The Effectiveness of Spatial Planning on Preserving Paddy Field in Gianyar Regency: Case of Ubud

spatial planning policy is the intervention action usually from the government in the term of appropriate uses of land, buildings and infrastructure. in this study, the inervention is on the paddy field preservation. agricultural product in Bali, especially rice, is considerad to be the best in indonesia. gianyar regency is the second largest procedur in bali after tabanan regency even though the paddy field gradually reduced every year, especially in ubud. the land is threatened by the rise of numerous hotel and tourist accomodation development.furthermore, this study proposess two research questions which are . 1) how effective is spatial planning implementation at reducing paddy fieldconversion in ubud, gianyar? 2) what are the constratining and supporting factors of spatial planning implementation in preserving paddy field? and also this study proposed one hypothesis that tourism is negative influenced the paddy field preservation.
